Former IGP's Final Rites to Be Held on Monday

Wickramaratne will be performed at the Borella Cemetery next Monday (20) eveningThe police mentioned that the body will be kept at a private funeral parlor in Borella starting tomorrow.Meanwhile, the police stated that statements have been recorded from more than 10 people regarding the incident of the former IGP dying from gunshot wounds.According to a special order given by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasooriya through the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of the Colombo District, the Western Province South Crime Division has commenced an investigation.Under the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in charge of the Nugegoda Division and the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Nugegoda, investigations are also being conducted by the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Malabe Police.Former IGP C.D. Wickramaratne died yesterday morning after being shot.C.D. Wickramaratne was 63 years old at the time of his death
