Frequently asked questions
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. To change or cancel, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select KottuRoti. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your plan until the end of the current billing period. Apple handles refunds — you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open the Account tab and tap Delete account, then confirm. This permanently deletes your account and all data linked to it, including bookmarks, preferences, reading history, and notification settings. It cannot be undone. If you cannot access the app, email us at hi@joel.lk from your account email address and we will delete it for you. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel it in your Apple ID Subscriptions settings as described above.
Why am I limited to 20 stories a day?
Free accounts can read up to 20 full stories per day. Upgrading to any paid plan in the app removes the limit.
How do notifications work?
Breaking-news and digest notifications are available on paid plans. Manage them in the app under Account, then Notifications, and make sure notifications are allowed for KottuRoti in your device Settings.
A story or summary looks wrong. How do I report it?
KottuRoti aggregates and summarizes reporting from Sri Lankan news outlets; every story links to its original sources. If a summary looks inaccurate, email hi@joel.lk with a link to the story and we will review it.
