The irrigation scheme was damaged at several locations due to the cyclone, and temporary repairs were carried out under the direct supervision of the Irrigation Department with the support of local farmers and the tri-forces. Following the successful completion of temporary restoration work, steps were taken to resume water supply from January 2026 to ensure that farming activities of the affected communities continued without disruption.
