COLOMBO (News 1st) - A three-day islandwide Dengue Eradication Programme will commence today (02).The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government. Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Professor Chandana Abeyratne said officials from District Secretariats and Divisional Secretariats across the country will join the special Dengue Eradication Programme alongside the Clean Sri Lanka programme. Meanwhile, 55,406 Dengue Cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year.According to the National Dengue Control Unit, the highest number of cases has been recorded in the Western Province, with 21,565 cases reported so far.The Unit also stated that the number of high-risk MOH divisions has increased to 124.A total of 32 Dengue-related deaths have been reported during this period.
