A Sri Lanka Navy Dvora vessel encountered difficulties in waters near Angulana, prompting a coordinated rescue operation involving both naval and air force personnel.

Eleven personnel from the Sri Lanka Navy were rescued and subsequently hospitalized following an incident involving a Dvora-class vessel operating off the coast of Angulana. According to the Navy Media Spokesperson, a rescue operation was initiated after receiving reports of the distressed vessel.

The rescue effort involved coordination between multiple branches of the armed forces. The Sri Lanka Air Force responded to a request from the Navy and deployed two helicopters to assist in the operation. An Mi-17 helicopter and a Bell 412 helicopter were mobilized to both monitor the vessel in distress and provide support to those aboard.

All eleven personnel were successfully rescued from the vessel and received medical attention following their removal from the waters off Angulana. The operation appears to have proceeded without further complications once assistance arrived on scene.
