A religious ceremony was held to commemorate the former Foreign Minister, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs alongside the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies.

The 21st anniversary of late Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar was observed through a religious almsgiving ceremony coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism in collaboration with the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKIIRSS).

The observance was conducted by seven members of the Maha Sangha, with Royal Pandit Venerable Kandy Amitha Gaveshi Thera of Colombo Sri Sambodhi Viharaya delivering remarks. During his address, the Venerable reflected on Kadirgamar's diplomatic accomplishments and his contributions toward national cohesion. The ceremony also featured pirith chanting, with participants seeking blessings for the Institute's continued operations.

Among attendees were Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath, Sugandhi Kadirgamar, the late minister's wife and a lifetime member of the LKIIRSS Board of Governors, and Acting Executive Director Tushara Rodrigo. The event drew senior ministry officials, Board members, and Institute staff.
