Police have apprehended a 22-year-old Bandaragama resident following a raid that uncovered approximately 18.6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as 'Ice'.

Authorities arrested a 22-year-old man during an operation targeting drug trafficking in the Bandaragama area. According to police statements, officers from the Police Special Task Force conducted the raid at a location in Wenkesiyawatta, Maswila, acting on intelligence gathered by the unit.

The suspect, who resides in Bandaragama, was found in possession of approximately 18.672 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine during the operation. Police confirmed that the narcotics were seized at the scene and documented as evidence.

Following the arrest, the individual was transferred to the Police Narcotics Bureau for continued investigation and processing.
