A coordinated law enforcement operation in Anuradhapura has resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old man suspected of possessing pharmaceutical tablets for unlawful sale. The operation, conducted jointly by the Sri Lanka Navy and local police, took place at Matale Junction on August 29 following intelligence received by the North Central Naval Command's SLNS Pandukabhaya.
Naval personnel and Anuradhapura Police officers conducted a search of the individual in the area, during which they seized approximately 400 medicine tablets. According to the Navy, the tablets were being held with intent to sell them illegally. The suspect, who is from Anuradhapura, was apprehended at the scene.
