Sri Lanka is set to introduce a 250‑megawatt solar battery storage system to strengthen the national grid, according to a report by NewsFirst. Chairman of the National Transmission Network Service Provider (Private) Limited, Dr. Pradeep Perera, said the system will be installed across 19 substations island‑wide. He explained that the initiative is expected to cut reliance on diesel and other fuel used for power generation. Dr. Perera further noted that the savings achieved through reduced fuel expenditure could open the door to consumer relief measures in the future. (Newswire)
