A 26-year-old man has been arrested with 130 foreign electronic cigarettes allegedly intended for illegal sale during a joint operation in Wellampitiya, Colombo.
The Sri Lanka Navy said the operation was carried out on Sept. 1 by personnel from SLNS Rangala of the Western Naval Command together with the Mirihana Divisional Criminal Investigation Unit.
During the operation, officers searched a suspicious individual and recovered 130 electronic cigarettes. A motor car linked to the suspect was also taken into custody.
The suspect, identified as a resident of Wellampitiya, was handed over to the Wellampitiya Police along with the seized e-cigarettes and vehicle for further legal action. (Newswire)
