The group competitions of the 36th National Youth Games jointly organized by the Youth Clubs Association and the Sri Lanka Youth Federation commenced today (06) and will be held in 14 locations across the country. Separate competitions will be held for men and women, and beach volleyball, swimming, badminton, karam, cricket, kabaddi, chess, netball, basketball, football, karam, ele, tug of war, and night marathon will be held in Negombo, Ratnapura, Colombo, Galle, Matara, Maharagama, Kurunegala, Jaffna, Gampaha, Hambantota and Homagama. The Beach Volleyball tournament will begin today, June 6th and will be held at the Negombo Beach Park today and tomorrow, June 6th and 7th. The winners of the regional level tournaments will participate in the district level tournaments and the winners will be selected for the national level tournaments. This time, the 36th National Youth Games will be held at the Diyagama Stadium in Homagama, Colombo District, next November.
