Sri Lankan police report the confiscation of heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, and millions of narcotic pills valued at over Rs. 102 billion during a nine-month period under the 'A Nation United' Operation.

Police authorities have announced significant drug seizures totaling more than Rs. 102 billion as part of the ongoing 'A Nation United' Operation conducted over nine months. According to police statements, the operation has targeted multiple drug categories across the country.

Heroin remains the largest component of the seizures, with authorities confiscating approximately 2,253 kilograms valued at Rs. 49.58 billion. Methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, accounted for the second-largest quantity seized at 2,640 kilograms, with an estimated value of Rs. 42.25 billion. Cocaine seizures were substantially smaller at nearly 294 kilograms, valued at approximately Rs. 10.22 billion.

Beyond bulk drug quantities, police also reported seizing approximately 3.6 million narcotic pills during the nine-month period. Law enforcement authorities noted arrests related to pill possession, including 743 children and 7,866 youths found in possession of narcotic medications. Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler confirmed these figures during official announcements regarding the operation's progress.
