Police in Homagama have arrested a suspect believed to be connected to an underworld operative known as 'Gagana,' seizing significant quantities of crystal methamphetamine and prescription pills during the operation.
Authorities have apprehended an individual accused of working alongside 'Gagana,' an underworld figure suspected of directing criminal operations from outside Sri Lanka. The arrest took place in the Homagama area as part of ongoing law enforcement efforts targeting drug trafficking networks.
During the arrest, police recovered 2.59 kilograms of ICE, commonly known as crystal methamphetamine, along with 800 narcotic pills. The seizure represents a significant quantity of illicit substances and suggests involvement in large-scale drug distribution operations.
The case adds to a broader pattern of police operations targeting organized crime networks operating within the country. The connection to 'Gagana,' who is believed to be coordinating activities from overseas, indicates the transnational nature of the criminal enterprise under investigation.
