A 63-year-old Sri Lankan man who was caring for an elderly woman in Italy has been charged with sexual assault.

The suspect, who has been living in Padua, Italy, since 2009, has been working as a caretaker at the elderly woman's home.

In this case, information about the case has now been released, as the incident took place in October last year.

The daughter of the elderly man who was sexually assaulted, was shocked to see inappropriate behavior in her mother's room when she checked the surveillance camera in the house using her mobile phone app. She immediately shouted at her mother through the camera's microphone to get away from her immediately. The prosecution told the court that a major crime was prevented because the Sri Lankan man heard her daughter's warning voice and left.

Immediately after the incident, the daughter went to her mother's house and immediately dismissed the suspected employee from work and filed a complaint with the police.

However, the suspected Sri Lankan man has denied the accusations against him. He argued that what was recorded on camera was not true.

Medical reports, however, video evidence submitted by the daughter and the mother's medical reports are considered key evidence in the case. The public prosecutor has requested that the investigation against the accused be opened. The accused's defense requested that the case be postponed because he does not technically understand Italian.

However, the court rejected it, saying that he knows the language because he has been working with Italian families since 2009.

However, an interpreter has been allowed to be present in court. It has been announced that the judge will issue a ruling on the next stage of the case and the investigation in the autumn after the summer break.
