The teamwork spirit among all healthcare professionals is a key factor in providing quality and efficient healthcare services in the country, and mutual understanding between them will go a long way in creating a better environment, said Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa. The Minister made this statement during a special discussion with representatives of the Association of Medical Specialists (AMS). The discussion was held at the Ministry of Health and Mass Media recently. This special discussion was held in response to a request made by the Association of Medical Specialists to the Minister of Health and Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, with the aim of maintaining an efficient service in the country for the future development of the country and obtaining immediate solutions to several practical problems in the provision of services by medical officers. Several issues were discussed here, including the formulation of the country's National Health Policy, areas that should be prioritized in the digitalization of health services, amendments to old circulars, transfers, and further improvement and maintenance of the excellent quality of health services that have existed so far. During this discussion, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa discussed some of the issues raised by representatives of the Association of Medical Specialists (AMS), and focused on providing solutions to several requests that could be resolved in the short term. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media Dr. Kumara Wickramasinghe, Deputy Director Dr. Chamindi Samarakkoon, President of the Medical Specialists Association Dr. Rasika Gunapala, Secretary Dr. R. Gnanasekaram, Treasurer Dr. Thileepa Amarasuriya and representatives of the association were present.
