Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, who served as the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, paid farewell calls on senior Defence Ministry officials as his tenure comes to an end.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, the outgoing Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, met separately with Deputy Defence Minister Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) to mark the completion of his service in the role.

During the meetings held at their respective offices, both senior officials praised Rodrigo's military career, leadership qualities, and contributions to the armed forces. According to the Defence Ministry, they highlighted his work in strengthening the operational capabilities and professional standards of the Sri Lanka Army during his period in command.

The Defence Minister and Defence Secretary extended their best wishes for Rodrigo's future plans and expressed appreciation for his service to the institution and the nation. The farewell calls represent a formal conclusion to his tenure as the country's 25th Army Commander.
