Activity-based learning brand Atlas PlayPalz collaborated with Sri Lanka's Ministry of Women and Child Affairs during ECD Week 2026, engaging over 1,000 participants across three events to highlight the importance of quality early learning experiences.

Atlas PlayPalz, an activity-based learning initiative from Atlas Axillia Co. (Pvt) Ltd., partnered with the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs to support Sri Lanka's Early Childhood Development Week 2026, which commenced on 14 July under the guidance of Minister Saroja Savithri Paulraj. The collaboration aimed to raise awareness about quality early learning experiences and the critical role of the first seven years in child development, during which approximately 90% of brain growth occurs.

The initiative organised three separate events targeting different stakeholder groups. On 15 July, more than 500 children participated in interactive activity zones at Sri Bodhi Ground in Gampaha, engaging in educational play experiences designed to encourage creativity and hands-on learning. The following day at Temple Trees, over 500 preschool teachers attended a session discussing the role of purposeful play in early childhood education. During this event, Atlas PlayPalz launched new modular activity kits intended to develop skills including creativity, problem-solving, fine motor abilities, communication and emotional expression.

The programme concluded on 20 July with a parent engagement event at The Sri Lanka Foundation, where over 100 parents of children aged three to five learned practical strategies for supporting learning through everyday play at home. Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya addressed attendees, emphasising that early childhood development represents a national priority and calling for collaborative effort among parents, teachers and communities. According to Kasuni Bandara, General Manager Marketing at Atlas Axillia, the initiative seeks to make early learning accessible and enjoyable while supporting children, parents and educators.
