COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police had opened fire at a suspect who attempted to attack several police officers. The incident Occured during a raid in Bokundara, Piliyandala at around 6.00 a.m. today (19). According to Police two officers from the Boralesgamuwa Police were deployed to investigate a complaint regarding the assault of a woman allegedly linked to drug trafficking.According to police, two men attempted to attack the officers with a sharp weapon.Police responded opened fire on the suspects Injuring one of the suspects.The injured suspect was admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.The other suspect had fled the scene. Police said investigations are underway to locate and arrest the suspect at large.
