The Welfare Benefits Board has announced that August disbursements under the Aswesuma scheme will be credited to beneficiary accounts on August 19, with over Rs. 11.56 billion reaching more than 1.2 million families across two phases.

The Welfare Benefits Board has confirmed that the August installment of the Aswesuma Welfare Benefits Scheme will be processed on Wednesday, August 19. According to the Board's official announcement, funds will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of all eligible beneficiaries on that date.

The distribution encompasses two separate phases of the program. The first phase covers 999,502 beneficiary families and will distribute approximately Rs. 9.24 billion. The second phase extends to 212,955 additional families, allocating over Rs. 2.32 billion to this group.

Combined, the August payment cycle will channel more than Rs. 11.56 billion across both phases to over 1.2 million beneficiary families in total. The Welfare Benefits Board has stated that all transfers will occur through direct bank account crediting, ensuring beneficiaries receive their payments without requiring in-person collection.
