The Ayodhya police today (26) said that eight people named in the First Information Report (FIR) registered for misappropriation of donations received for the Ayodhya Ram temple have been arrested.
The FIR was registered at the Ram Janmabhoomi Kotwali police station yesterday on a complaint filed by Krishna Mohan, a member of the ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’, two days after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the allegations submitted its preliminary report to the Uttar Pradesh government.
The eight people named in the FIR are: Avinash Shukla, Lavkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey, Ramashankar Mishra, Ram Shankar Yadav, Dinnu Yadav and Subhash Srivastava.
Senior officials said that all eight people have been arrested and further questioning is being conducted as part of the investigation.
The official also said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is paying close attention to the incident.
