The Puthu Paalam bridge in Batticaloa, which collapsed on June 28, has been restored and reopened for public transportation, Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Sunil Handunnetti said. In a Facebook post, the minister said the bridge was reopened from today following restoration work carried out to restore daily transport in the area. Handunnetti thanked the government officials, engineers, workers, and local residents who worked day and night to complete the repairs in a short period. He said the reopening of the bridge would help restore normal travel for residents in the area. (Newswire)
