The CA Sri Lanka Leadership Academy has introduced a comprehensive Director and Corporate Leadership Program aimed at equipping current and aspiring board directors with modern governance skills and strategic leadership capabilities.

The CA Sri Lanka Leadership Academy has unveiled a new Director and Corporate Leadership Program designed to address the evolving demands placed on corporate boards. According to the initiative's framework, today's boardrooms face substantially greater complexity than in the past, extending far beyond traditional governance and compliance functions to encompass strategic navigation through economic uncertainty, digital transformation, regulatory change, cybersecurity challenges, and shifting stakeholder expectations.

Unlike traditional governance training that relies primarily on theoretical instruction, the new program combines academic content with practical, hands-on learning experiences. Participants engage in expert-led discussions, case study analysis, boardroom simulations, and interactive exercises that reflect real-world corporate decision-making scenarios. This immersive methodology aims to help directors translate governance principles into actionable boardroom practice.

The program addresses five critical areas of board leadership, with particular focus on directors' legal, fiduciary, and ethical responsibilities alongside strategic decision-making capabilities. The curriculum recognises that effective governance requires directors to oversee multiple dimensions of organisational performance, including enterprise-wide risk evaluation, technology and cybersecurity governance, sustainability considerations, and stakeholder management. The initiative is structured to serve not only current board members but also senior executives, entrepreneurs, finance professionals, legal practitioners, and committee members seeking to develop governance expertise.

The program is led by faculty drawn from experienced board directors, governance specialists, regulators, senior executives, and industry practitioners. According to CA Sri Lanka, the initiative reflects the organisation's commitment to strengthening corporate governance standards across Sri Lanka's private sector and developing leaders who can foster organisational resilience and long-term value creation.
