Bank of Ceylon has retained its title as Sri Lanka's Most Valuable Brand for 2026 with a valuation of Rs. 65.5 billion, marking a 14.1% increase year-on-year and achieving an upgraded AAA Brand Strength Rating.
Bank of Ceylon (BOC) has secured recognition as Sri Lanka's Most Valuable Brand 2026 according to Brand Finance Lanka, the local subsidiary of the UK-based Brand Finance organization. The bank's brand value grew to Rs. 65.5 billion, representing growth of 14.1% compared to the previous year. The institution's Brand Strength Rating was upgraded to AAA, a reflection the bank attributes to customer confidence, market leadership position and ongoing innovation efforts.
Brand Finance Lanka conducts its valuations using a methodology that incorporates brand investment analysis, brand equity assessment and brand performance measurement, supplemented by financial data and independent consumer research. BOC's leadership emphasized that the achievement reflects broader stakeholder support. Bank Chairman Kavinda de Zoysa noted that the recognition demonstrates the confidence generations of Sri Lankans have placed in the institution, while General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Y. A. Jayathilaka credited the bank's growth trajectory to digital transformation initiatives, customer-centered service delivery and sustainability programs.
Beyond domestic recognition, BOC achieved distinction as the sole Sri Lankan bank to rank among the World's Top 500 Banking Brands 2026. Financial performance in 2025 included a Profit Before Tax of Rs. 120.8 billion, with the bank contributing Rs. 77 billion in taxes, positioning it as the country's largest corporate taxpayer. The bank's digital banking platform BOC Flex has accumulated transaction value exceeding Rs. 2 trillion and recorded more than 2.5 million downloads, indicating substantial user adoption of its digital services.
