The body of a 19-year-old youth has been recovered from the sea off Tangalle, police said.The deceased has been identified as Chamidu Dilshan, a resident of Godellawela, Tangalle, police said.According to police, the youth had been fishing at the Mahagalagawa beach in Mawella, Tangalle, on July 9 when he was swept away by a sudden wave.Following the incident, local residents, the Police Lifesaving Unit, and the Sri Lanka Navy had launched a search operation, but were initially unable to locate him.However, yesterday (11), fishermen had spotted the body floating in the sea off Mawella and brought it ashore by boat.Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Tangalle Police.
