by Staff Writer 12-07-2026 | 1:10 PMCOLOMBO (News 1st): The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has raided four train canteens for selling goods above the exorbitant prices.The CAA stated legal action will be taken against those responsible.The latest raid was carried out in the Colombo–Jaffna intercity express train.During the inspection, a bottle of water marked at Rs. 120 was being sold for Rs. 150.The Consumer Affairs Authority stated it has also informed Sri Lanka Railways about the overpriced goods train canteens.
