The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of S.N.B.M. Padmasiri as the new Director General of the Department of Government Factory with immediate effect. Padmasiri, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Engineering Service, currently serves as the Additional Director General of the Department. He succeeds A. Wijesinghe, who retired from public service on 9 July 2026, creating the vacancy. The appointment was approved following a proposal submitted by Housing, Construction and Water Supply Minister Dr. Susil Ranasinghe.
