The Carson Cumberbatch PLC Group has purchased a combined 10.05% stake in CT Holdings PLC through coordinated transactions, marking the largest share deal of 2026.
The Carson Cumberbatch PLC Group has completed a significant acquisition of CT Holdings PLC, with multiple entities within the group acting in concert to purchase over 20 million ordinary voting shares. According to a market filing by CT Holdings, the transactions represent a combined 10.05% voting stake in the company.
The primary acquisition occurred on August 24, described as the largest share transaction of 2026. During this transaction, CT Holdings divested 10% of its shares, while its subsidiary Cargills (Ceylon) sold a 3% stake. An additional 107,000 shares were purchased the following day. The share price during the transactions ranged between 530 and 575 rupees per share.
This acquisition comes as part of broader activity in Sri Lanka's equity markets, with CT Holdings and Cargills undertaking significant divestment programs valued at approximately Rs15 billion, which has contributed to recent activity on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
