The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has extended the tenure of the Administrator of Nation Lanka Finance PLC by a further six months, from July 4, 2026 to January 3, 2027, under the Banking (Special Provisions) Act. The Administrator, P.W.D.N.R. Rodrigo, was first appointed in July 2025, with his term previously extended to July 2026. CBSL said the extension is to ensure the continued progress of the company’s resolution process. During the extended period, the Administrator will retain full control over the firm’s assets, operations and management, and will continue reporting to the central bank in line with legal requirements. CBSL, acting as the resolution authority, said the move is aimed at protecting depositors and maintaining stability in the financial system. Stakeholders have been urged to continue fulfilling financial obligations to the company through official bank accounts and to cooperate with the process. (Newswire)
