Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) has been awarded the Silver Award for Overall Excellence at the National Business Excellence Awards 2026, a recognition that the company describes as a defining moment in its corporate history. The award underscores CDB's position as a leading financial services provider in Sri Lanka and reflects consistent performance across multiple dimensions of business operations.
Beyond the overall excellence award, CDB achieved additional recognitions at the ceremony. The company was named the winner in the Non-Banking Financial Services Sector category for the ninth consecutive year, cementing its dominance within its sector. The organisation also secured the First Runner-Up position in the Extra-Large Sector category. Deputy CEO Damith Thennakoon stated that the achievements represent recognition of the company's strength across all aspects of business excellence, including leadership, governance, performance, and sustainability initiatives.
