Cinnamon Box Office has unveiled a Destination Event Calendar aimed at positioning Colombo as a regional entertainment hub, with the Michael Jackson tribute production 'This Is Michael – Relive the Legend' scheduled for November 2026.
Cinnamon Box Office, a ticketing platform operated by the John Keells Group, officially launched its Destination Event Calendar on 6 August 2026 at City of Dreams Sri Lanka. The initiative signals an effort to establish Colombo as a cultural and entertainment destination across South Asia, drawing on over a decade of experience delivering entertainment experiences through Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and related entities.
The platform's inaugural major production is a Michael Jackson tribute show titled 'This Is Michael – Relive the Legend', presented by City of Dreams Sri Lanka. The performance will run on 8 and 9 November 2026 at The Podium venue. According to the organisers, the internationally recognised production features a performer noted for his physical resemblance and vocal similarity to Michael Jackson, combining choreography, live music, visual effects and classic Michael Jackson songs.
Cinnamon Box Office has previously facilitated the arrival of Broadway productions including 'Mamma Mia the Musical' and 'The Sound of Music', as well as events featuring international culinary personalities and thought leaders. The platform positions itself as an ecosystem connecting audiences, event organisers and premium productions rather than a traditional ticketing service.
According to John Keells Group leadership, the initiative reflects a broader strategy to attract visitors to Colombo and encourage extended stays through entertainment offerings.
