Cinnamon Box Office has unveiled a new Destination Event Calendar aimed at establishing Colombo as a regional entertainment hub, with the launch marked by the announcement of an international Michael Jackson tribute concert scheduled for November 2026.
Cinnamon Box Office, a ticketing platform operated by the John Keells Group, officially launched its Destination Event Calendar on 6 August 2026 at City of Dreams Sri Lanka. The initiative is designed to position Colombo as a vibrant cultural and entertainment destination while strengthening Sri Lanka's creative economy through partnerships with international productions and event organisers.
The platform's inaugural offering under this calendar is This Is Michael – Relive the Legend, described as a premier Michael Jackson tribute concert. The production will be staged at The Podium, City of Dreams Sri Lanka, on 8 and 9 November 2026. According to organisers, the show features a performer noted for physical and vocal similarity to Michael Jackson, accompanied by choreography, live music, spectacle visuals and costume recreations intended to recreate the King of Pop's performance legacy.
Cinnamon Box Office builds on over a decade of experience delivering ticketed entertainment and lifestyle experiences through associated entities including Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and City of Dreams Sri Lanka. The platform's previous portfolio includes Broadway productions such as Mamma Mia the Musical and The Sound of Music, as well as events featuring international culinary personalities and thought leaders. Senior leadership has characterised the initiative as more than a ticketing system, describing it as an ecosystem connecting entertainment, hospitality and tourism sectors.
Organisers stated that the Destination Event Calendar reflects a commitment to bringing internationally recognised productions to Sri Lanka while supporting Colombo's positioning as a cultural centre. The Michael Jackson tribute concert is presented alongside multiple media and commercial partners including Wijeya Newspapers, Daily Mirror Online, Scope Cinemas and E FM.
