The Negombo Chief Magistrate has ordered separate post-mortem examinations on the bodies of individuals who died following the clash at the Negombo Prison, with the reports to be submitted to court.Chief Magistrate Thilini Chalani Perera issued the order to the Judicial Medical Officer of the Negombo General Hospital.The incident was brought before court today (07), with the Negombo Headquarters Police Station Chief Inspector and the court police officer presenting details regarding the clash.The Magistrate instructed police to obtain separate statements from the families or legal custodians of each deceased person, conduct the post-mortem examinations and release the bodies to relatives thereafter.Court also directed police to submit a progress report on the ongoing investigations into the Negombo Prison clash.
