COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Dengue Control Unit states that a special dengue eradication program will be implemented in 11 districts starting this Thursday.Its Acting Director, Dr. Kapila Kannangara, stated that the program will be carried out for one week.He also mentioned that the hospital system is currently under severe pressure.The National Dengue Control Unit stated that 13,293 dengue patients have been reported in the country within the few days that have passed this month.Accordingly, the National Dengue Control Unit noted that 68,672 dengue patients have been reported in the country so far this year.The number of dengue-related deaths is 47.Meanwhile, the National Dengue Prevention Program is in operation today as well.It is being implemented focusing on the Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara districts.The program is being conducted by the Capital Maharaja Media Network, led by Newsfirst, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Mass Media.
