The number of dengue-related deaths reported so far this year has increased to 42, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.Acting Director of the unit Dr. Kapila Kannangara said that a total of 63,835 dengue cases have been reported across the country as of yesterday (08).According to Dr. Kannangara, 8,450 dengue cases were recorded in July alone.He added that special dengue prevention campaigns will continue to be carried out in the coming days to control the spread of the disease.
