COLOMBO (News 1st): A special hotline has been introduced for the public to report premises and individuals maintaining premises that may contribute to mosquito breeding.The dedicated number, 0117 966 366, is now operational 24 hours a day and is connected to the National Health Emergency Operations Centre, allowing authorities to respond quickly to reported concerns.Meanwhile, a special discussion on controlling the dengue epidemic was held this morning under the chairmanship of Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.In addition, a targeted dengue control programme was launched today across 23 high-risk zones in the Western Province. The initiative is being implemented under the “Clean Sri Lanka” programme, on behalf of the Presidential Secretariat.According to official data, 59,638 dengue cases have been reported islandwide so far this year, while 39 deaths have been recorded.
