Sri Lankan cricketer Dinesh Chandimal has been admitted to hospital for a precautionary scan following an injury sustained during the opening Test match against India. The incident occurred during the first session of Day 4 when Chandimal dived while fielding in an attempt to stop the ball from crossing the boundary.
The injury affected Chandimal's right shoulder and neck area. He received immediate assessment from the Sri Lanka team's physiotherapist and doctor at the ground before being transferred to hospital for further medical examination.
According to Sri Lanka Cricket, the hospitalization is being conducted as a precautionary measure to rule out any serious complications. The organization stated that additional information regarding Chandimal's condition will be made available once the scan results become available.
