An anesthesiologist attached to Badulla Teaching Hospital has been reported missing since completing his duty on 23rd. Police have launched a search operation after locating his abandoned vehicle.
Sri Lanka Police reported that a doctor working as an anesthesiologist at Badulla Teaching Hospital has gone missing. The medical professional was on duty on 23rd but has not been located since then, prompting authorities to initiate investigations into his disappearance.
Police inquiries have tracked the doctor's movements through surveillance footage. CCTV cameras in the Meegahakiula area recorded his vehicle traveling in the direction of Mahiyanganaya. The investigation subsequently led authorities to discover the doctor's car abandoned in the Mapakada Wewa area, situated near the 17th Mile Post along the Badulla–Mahiyanganaya canal road.
Following the discovery of the vehicle, Sri Lanka Police announced plans for a coordinated search operation on 24th involving both police personnel and the Sri Lanka Army. The joint effort aims to locate the missing doctor in the surrounding area.
