The International Cricket Council (ICC) has contacted the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) over the release of Ben Stokes’ retirement announcement video during the ongoing Trent Bridge Test, according to multiple reports. The ICC is understood to have sought an explanation from the ECB after the board published footage of Stokes informing his England teammates of his decision to retire while the Test match was still in progress. According to reports, the ICC believes the release may have breached its Players’ and Match Officials’ Areas (PMOA) minimum standards, which prohibit the broadcast of dressing room footage and audio before the conclusion of a match. The ECB has yet to comment publicly on the matter. No disciplinary action has been announced, with reports suggesting the ICC is currently seeking the ECB’s response before deciding on any further action.(Newswire)
