Social media footage appeared to show the 31-year-old Durham pace bowler in handcuffs being escorted away from a nightclub by police officers.
An ECB spokesperson confirmed awareness of the reported incident on Sunday and indicated that the governing body was examining the circumstances. "We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night and we are currently investigating," the spokesperson stated, adding that further details would be released when available.
According to reports, Carse was released without charge following the nightclub encounter, which took place while he was celebrating a victory over Derbyshire. The bowler remains part of England's squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's, having been included but unused in the opening Test at Headingley.
