Sri Lanka's capital will host a major peace parade on September 6, 2026, as part of the Manhunt International World Finals, bringing together representatives from nearly 40 countries to promote global unity and cooperation.
Colombo has been selected to host the International Peace Parade on September 6, 2026, positioned as a flagship humanitarian event of the Manhunt International World Finals 2026. The parade, powered by Fairway Colombo, will commence at 3:00 p.m. from the Dutch Hospital Precinct and is expected to draw approximately 1,000 participants, including international contestants, government delegates, diplomatic representatives and members of the public.
The gathering will unite young men from across Asia, Europe, Africa and other regions under the banner "ONE WORLD – ONE HUMANITY – WORLD PEACE," according to organizers who describe the event as a deliberate platform for channeling the international reach of the Manhunt competition into a message of unity and shared purpose among nations.
Several Sri Lankan national institutions have been invited to participate, including the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force and Police. Organizers are considering ceremonial performances by Armed Forces bands and a mounted Police contingent. Subject to operational feasibility and necessary approvals, a Sri Lanka Air Force helicopter flypast carrying both the National Flag and a Peace Flag has been proposed, with organizers hoping the display will symbolize a message of peace emanating from Sri Lankan skies to the world.
With significant local and international media coverage anticipated, the event is intended to position Sri Lanka on the global stage as a nation committed to championing peace and cooperation.
