COLOMBO (News 1st) - The final rites of veteran singer Mariazelle Goonetilleke will be held at 5.00 p.m. today at the Borella General Cemetery.Her remains have been placed at a private funeral parlour in Borella for the public to pay their final respects from 8.00 a.m. until this afternoon.Mariazelle Goonetilleke passed away on Friday morning (10) while receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.She was 68 years old at the time of her demise.A beloved artiste, Mariazelle Goonetilleke was renowned for a collection of timeless songs that earned a special place in the hearts of Sri Lankans and remained a popular presence on the concert stage throughout her career.
