A total of five individuals have been arrested for allegedly obstructing police officers on duty and using criminal force against them during a Mihindu Perahera in Veyangoda, police said.The incident occurred yesterday (29) in Wataddara, where police officers were deployed to manage traffic for the procession.According to police, a group travelling in a cab obstructed officers while they were carrying out traffic control duties.The suspects, aged 20 and 21, are residents of Nittambuwa and Yakkala.Further investigations are being conducted by Veyangoda Police.
