Police recovered a foreign-manufactured revolver and 12 rounds of ammunition from a residence in Mattakkuliya following leads from an ongoing investigation.

Authorities seized a foreign-made revolver and 12 live rounds of ammunition from a house in Mattakkuliya on Thursday, based on information obtained during an active criminal investigation. The recovery was conducted following leads provided by a suspect currently held at the Colombo Crime Division under detention orders.

According to police, the suspect was brought into the country from overseas and remains in custody while investigations proceed. Officers used information disclosed during questioning to locate and search the suspect's residential address in Mattakkuliya, where the weapons were subsequently discovered.

The Colombo Crime Division continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the illegal firearms and ammunition.
