Lalith Ellawala, a former Kalutara District MP and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna organizer, has switched allegiance to the Sarvajana Balaya party, taking on leadership positions within the organization.

Lalith Ellawala, who previously served as a Member of Parliament representing Kalutara District, has announced his transition to the Sarvajana Balaya party. Ellawala held the position of Chief Organizer for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in the Bandaragama area before making the move.

In his new role with Sarvajana Balaya, Ellawala has been appointed Deputy District Leader for Kalutara and granted membership in the party's Supreme Council. The formal appointment was presented to him at the party headquarters by Sarvajana Balaya Leader Dilith Jayaweera, who serves as both a Member of Parliament and entrepreneur.

Sarvajana Balaya indicated that Ellawala's political experience and organizational background would contribute to strengthening the party's activities in the Kalutara District. The party framed the recruitment as part of its strategic efforts to build grassroots support as it charts a new political direction focused on addressing public concerns.
