Sri Lanka Police has transferred four senior-ranking and six mid-ranking police officers in a move approved by the National Police Commission.
Sri Lanka Police Headquarters has announced the immediate transfer of ten officers across two senior ranks, following approval from the National Police Commission.
The transfers involve four Senior Deputy Inspectors General of Police (SDIGs): W.K. Jayalath, W.S.E. Jayasundara, U.P.A.D.K.P. Karunanayake, and G.M.H.B. Siriwardena. Additionally, six Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) have been reassigned, including C.A.B. Jayasundara, A.D. Seneviratne, A.P.N.S.S. Perera, W.A.K.I.P. Premathilaka, D.M.S.P.K. Dissanayake, and N.P. Thushantha.
According to police authorities, the transfers were executed with the necessary authorization from the National Police Commission, the oversight body responsible for police personnel decisions. However, the specific reasons for the transfers or the new postings of the affected officers have not been disclosed by the police department.
