A four-year-old girl was found brutally assaulted and abandoned along Yatirawana Road in Wattegama on Wednesday, according to Sri Lanka Police. Officers from the Wattegama Police Station responded to an emergency report and located the child at a deserted location on the roadside.

Police believe the girl was transported to the site by three-wheeler and left there at approximately 7:00 a.m. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and those responsible for transporting and abandoning the child.
