France and Saudi Arabia have partnered on a major entertainment development near Paris, with Saudi investment group Qiddiya backing a $7 billion theme park inspired by the popular Japanese anime franchise Dragon Ball Z.
France and Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement to construct a large-scale theme park dedicated to Dragon Ball Z, the renowned Japanese manga and anime series created by Akira Toriyama. The project, valued at $7 billion (€6 billion), will be located near Cergy-Pontoise in the northwestern region outside Paris.
Qiddiya, a Saudi entertainment and investment organization, will finance the ambitious development. According to reports, the venture is expected to generate approximately 22,000 employment opportunities for the region. Beyond the Dragon Ball Z-themed attraction, the broader entertainment complex will incorporate three separate theme parks, positioning it as a comprehensive destination for visitors.
While the partnership has been formalized, project planners have not yet disclosed a target opening date. Several key aspects of the development, including design specifications, operational timelines, and additional details about the accompanying parks, remain under discussion and require finalization before construction can advance. The project represents a significant collaboration between European and Gulf interests in the entertainment sector.
