Gateway College has completed the acquisition of the Regent Country Club property in Malabe from Prime Lands, marking a significant expansion for the educational institution in one of Greater Colombo's fastest-growing residential areas.

Gateway College has taken ownership of the Regent Country Club in Malabe through a landmark transaction with Prime Lands, positioning the educational group to establish a new international school in the rapidly developing region. The 3.2-acre property comes equipped with existing facilities including a banquet hall, conference rooms, swimming pool, gymnasium and supporting infrastructure that will form the foundation for the modern educational campus.

The transaction aligns with both organisations' 30th anniversaries this year and reflects Prime Lands' strategic shift toward focusing on large-scale development projects while supporting quality education initiatives. According to Sandamini Perera, Co-Founder and Co-Chairperson of Prime Lands, Malabe has transformed into a highly sought-after residential area for the upper-middle-class segment of Greater Colombo's urban population, making it an ideal location for an international school.

Dr. Harsha Alles, Chairman of Gateway Group, expressed gratitude to Prime Lands for facilitating the acquisition through a phased approach. The new Malabe campus will expand Gateway's educational network, which currently operates five Gateway Colleges across Rajagiriya, Kandy, Negombo, Dehiwala and Ratmalana, as well as three Springfield Colleges. The broader network shares specialised facilities including a nine-acre sports ground in Seeduwa, a 50-metre swimming pool in Negombo and a football pitch in Ratmalana.
