Gateway College strengthened its international presence at the 10th Annual IC3 Conference & Expo in Mumbai, participating as both a regional partner and active contributor to discussions on higher education and student pathways.
Gateway College sent a delegation of senior management and educators to the 10th Annual IC3 Conference & Expo, held on 19 and 20 August at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The event attracted nearly 2,000 delegates from the global education sector, including school administrators, university officials, counsellors and education professionals. Gateway's representation included Chief Operating Officer Thusitha Simon, Deputy Principal Dr. Hemalatha Pradeep, and senior staff from Gateway's Kandy, Negombo and Dehiwala campuses.
The conference centred on the theme "Looking Deeply; From Information to Insight," with counselling and student well-being as primary focuses. Discussions examined how educational institutions can better equip students to make informed choices about their academic and career futures. Gateway College functions as a regional partner of the IC3 Movement, a role that has positioned the institution as an active participant in shaping conversations around international higher education trends.
Dr. Hemalatha Pradeep served as a panellist during the conference, discussing "Recruiting Gen Z from the Global South" alongside representatives from universities and counselling organisations. The discussion addressed how Generation Z students' expectations are evolving alongside the global higher education landscape. To mark IC3's 10th anniversary, Gateway presented a commemorative gift to IC3 Founder Ganesh Kohli, acknowledging a decade of partnership between the organisations.
The conference provided Gateway representatives with networking opportunities to connect with international universities, schools and education professionals across Asia and beyond. According to Gateway, these connections aim to enhance the diversity and accessibility of higher education options available to students in the region, aligning with the college's stated commitment to engaging with global education developments and expanding student pathways.
