Hari TV has been honoured with the Best Social Media Award (National Interest) at the 31st Sumathi Awards ceremony, in recognition of its humanitarian mission carried out in the aftermath of Cyclone Dithwa. The initiative, led last year, brought relief to Kalugala village, a remote and struggling community near Ududumbara in Sri Lanka’s Central Province. Channel owner and TV personality, Lahiru Mudalige, said Hari TV’s efforts provided vital assistance to families devastated by the cyclone, which left lasting scars across the region. Lahiru Mudalige noted that the award was not solely for the Hari TV team, but a tribute to the collective spirit of Sri Lankans at home and abroad. “This award truly belongs to everyone who contributed, from those who offered material support to those who gave financial aid, for our people struck by disaster,” he said.
